Genesys – a Tenece initiative – is a six-month, multi-institution internship, Technology Foundation Programme for undergraduates on Industrial Attachment Training.
This scheme is part of our vision of promoting development in the field of science and technology – with particular emphasis on Information Communication Technology and Engineering. The Programme combines several learning strategies with an effective course content. Participants are guided through this fairly intensive programme to create a picture of the realities of the work-life and stimulate the innovative drive of budding entrepreneurs.
Key aspects include:
- Classes & Colloquiums based on modern pedagogy
- Online Tutorials
- Tasks & Appraisals
- Hands-On Experience working on real-life projects
- Mentorship Schemes
- Knowledge Sharing Sessions, and
- Boot Camps.
The curriculum covers core information technology, global technology trends, corporate ethics coaching, business development, management & leadership, etc.
In April 2015, the Programme was launched with ten representatives from our partner institutions. The success story spread across tertiary institutions, as participants returned to their respective schools with testimonies and bolstered confidence.
By October 2016, we had successfully completed its second season with thirty participants. We are currently receiving applications for the 2017 edition, and we are looking to admit a minimum of 120 students from all Nigerian higher education institutions (HEIs).
