We were live at Bethesda Child Support Agency School Ikota Lagos for the project BE! in honor of this year’s Day of The AFRICAN CHILD, which is an international celebration birthed to
honor the brave children of Soweto who marched in protest against apartheid-inspired education.
We believe this is a time for the world to reflect on the progress made towards children’s rights and the barriers they face in achieving their dreams. Team Tenece, led by Ogochukwu Emeruwa, mentored, and inspired the children to become confident, encourage them that their goals are valid, and they will become great sooner than they think.
We also encouraged them to take up great men and women of our society today as their mentors. The likes of Nkoyo Rapu, Kingsley Eze, Chimamanda Adiche, Usain Bolt, and many more; The kids should study these people and how they came from a humble background and made it to the top. If these set of persons can achieve it, they also can. We also came prepared with some fun and educative DIY activities to motivate the kids further.
Some of these activities include.
- Bookworm– a “read-a-thon” activity.
- My African Reading List– a vision board activity aimed at promoting reading culture among children.
- My African Role Model– inspiring stories about African people that have impacted the world.
- Interesting Africa– aimed at helping students gain insights about the continent of Africa.
We made sure each of these activities gave the children room to fully express themselves to be independent and explore their creativity. We believe that a little act of kindness put together can turn a child’s dream and hope into reality.
We take our Corporate Social Responsibilities seriously.
