Disaster Recovery Specialist
Description
We are seeking a seasoned Disaster Recovery Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of
experience to design, implement, and maintain robust disaster recovery (DR) and business
continuity strategies. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our IT infrastructure, ensuring
rapid recovery during disruptions, and minimizing downtime. Your expertise will guide risk
assessments, plan development, cross-departmental collaboration, and post-incident analysis to
fortify organizational resilience.
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and test comprehensive disaster recovery plans for critical systems,
data, and applications. - Identify vulnerabilities through Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and recommend
mitigation strategies. - Partner with IT, cybersecurity, operations, and external vendors to align DR strategies
with business goals. - Lead recovery efforts during disruptions, ensuring swift restoration of services.
- Conduct regular drills (tabletop exercises, failover tests) to validate plan effectiveness.
- Maintain detailed recovery procedures, contact lists, and post-incident reports.\
- Educate staff on DR protocols and roles.
- Assess emerging tools (e.g., cloud recovery solutions, backup systems) to enhance
resilience. - Ensure adherence to industry standards (ISO 22301, NIST) and regulatory
requirements. - Analyze incidents to refine strategies and prevent recurrence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years in Information system support, administration, risk management,
business continuity and disaster recovery. - Experience in GSM and Mobile communications technology, cloud technologies, IT and network
infrastructure, IT systems administration, Database management, and cybersecurity. - Proven track record in risk assessment, DR testing, and incident
management. - Possess skills in testing emergency response, recovery support and business
resumption procedures. - Experience in the Support for On-prem and Cloud IT Applications.
- Proficiency in DR tools (e.g., VMware SRM, Azure Site Recovery, Veeam).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with risk management software (e.g., RSA Archer).
- Certifications: CBCP, CISSP, CISA, ITIL.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
